The Smith & Wesson M&P is the primary pistol showcased in Alpha Protocol. There are three variants of the M&P in-game, all of which are manufactured by the fictional Hamilton. The basic version is called the Hamilton .45 Pistol, a better version is the Hamilton Contender. The best of the "Hamilton" pistols and arguably the best pistol in the game is the Hamilton Duelist. Statistically and in description, Hamilton Pistols are the most balanced of the available pistols in terms of damage, accuracy, and recoil.
Alpha Protocol is the first game to use this model of pistol. The Smith & Wesson M&P is a weapon primarily utilized by military and police forces. The name "M&P" actually means "Military and Police". Despite the basic variant being named the "Hamilton .45 Pistol" it is modeled after the 9mm version of the real-life M&P.
Hamilton .45 Pistol Edit
The Hamilton .45 Pistol is the first pistol available to Michael Thorton upon leaving The Graybox. It is always available in the weapons locker in the Saudi Arabia Safehouse from the start, regardless of which Agent History is chosen. It is an average pistol and belongs to the basic "first tier" of weapons (unmarked with stars) and is the most well-balanced of any pistol in this category in terms of damage, accuracy, and recoil. It is dark gray/black along the body with black plastic grips and dark gray metal parts (slide, trigger, magazine, etc.).
Hamilton Contender Edit
The Hamilton Contender is the advanced "second tier" (two star) level of Hamilton pistol. It is more accurate, more powerful, and more balanced than the Hamilton .45 Pistol. It is beige/sandy yellow along the body with black plastic grips and dark gray metal parts (slide, trigger, magazine, etc.).
Hamilton Duelist Edit
The Hamilton Duelist is the top "third tier" (three star) level of Hamilton pistol, and is the best of the Hamilton line, and is arguably the best pistol in the game as well due to its balance of damage, accuracy, and recoil. It is one of the most expensive items available on the Clearinghouse (along with all top tier items). It is light green along the body with black plastic grips and dark gray metal parts (slide, trigger, magazine, etc.).
